Sandro

Der Bündner Fotograf Sandro Casutt, geboren und aufgewachsen in Vals, entdeckte bereits in seiner frühen Kindheit die Liebe zur Natur und zum Universum.
Seit er mit 11 Jahren bei einem Zeichenwett-bewerb eine analoge Fotokamera gewann, hat ihn die Faszination nicht mehr losgelassen. So war es für ihn ganz natürlich, seine Leidenschaften zu kombinieren. 2003 richtete Sandro die Kamera zum ersten Mal Richtung Nachthimmel. So entstanden seine ersten Astroaufnahmen. Es war um ihn geschehen. Unzählige Nächte verbrachte er fortan unter dem Sternenhimmel, meist allein, doch oft auch mit seinem Bruder Markus.

Mittlerweile hat sich Sandro neben der Landschafts- und Wildlife-Fotografie auf die Astrofotografie spezialisiert. Über die Jahre hat er das erworbene Wissen zusammen mit seinem Bruder bei Astrofotografie-Workshops in Vals und in der Sternwarte Mirasteilas in Falera an Nachthimmelbegeisterte weitergegeben.

Markus

Markus ist der jüngere der Gebrüder Casutt. Schon während seiner Ausbildung zum Elektro­­monteur drehte er gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder Snowboardfilme.
Später studierte er Digital Film and Animation in Zürich und vertiefte dort seine Liebe für die Kameraarbeit. Er assistierte einer amerikanischen Schwarz-Weiss-Analog-Fotografin und entdeckte so eine weitere Facette
der Fotografie.
Seit 2009 ist er freiberuflich als Fotograf und Kameramann tätig und realisierte unter anderem auch Drohnenaufnahmen für internationale Film- und TV-Produktionen.
In Vals verbrachte er seine Zeit jedoch am liebsten nachts draussen mit seinem Bruder.
Durch das Nachtfotografie-Projekt «Cosmic Art Photography» entdeckte er erneut eine ganz
eigene fotografische Welt.

Sandro Casutt, a photographer from Graubünden, born and raised in Vals, discovered his love for nature and the universe in early childhood.
Since winning an analog camera in a drawing competition at the age of 11, he has been captivated by it all. So it was only natural for him to combine his passions. In 2003, Sandro pointed his camera at the night sky for the first time. This is how his first astrophotographs came about. He was hooked. From then on, he spent countless nights under the stars, mostly alone, but often with his brother Markus.

In addition to landscape and wildlife photography, Sandro has now specialized in astrophotography. Over the years, he and his brother have shared their acquired knowledge with night sky enthusiasts at astrophotography workshops in Vals and at the Mirasteilas Observatory in Falera.

Markus is the younger of the Casutt brothers. Even during his apprenticeship as an electrician, he and his brother made snowboard films together.
Later, he studied Digital Film and Animation in Zurich, where he deepened his passion for camera work. He assisted an American black-and-white analog photographer and thus discovered another facet of photography. Since 2009, he has worked freelance as a photographer and cameraman, producing drone footage for international film and television productions, among other things.
In Vals, however, he preferred spending his time outdoors at night with his brother. Through the night photography project "Cosmic Art Photography," he discovered yet another unique photographic world.​​
